it's been a few years since i partook in a high life. maybe even in arizona at one of the many, many backyard parties at my first place there. who knows?

Why Shawn Kemp?

Today is the first entry in The Shawn Kemp diaries.

These will be the continuing voyages of me and my Shawn Kemp doll. Why Shawn Kemp? Well, it's a long story, but here's the short version:

Back in college at Arizona State University, I worked at the State Press, the student newspaper. During that time, the Sun Devils had a player named Urit Kelly. Well, the Shawn Kemp doll looked a lot like Urit Kelly, so it became the sports desk's mascot -- Lil' Urit.

This was also during the heyday of the ad campaign with Penny Hardaway and Lil' Penny.

So, a legend was born...

This will just be pictures and maybe a few words about what me and Lil' Urit, aka, Shawn Kemp doll do...
